If you love Sangamon County and want to be a part of preserving that history, please consider joining the Sangamon County Historical Society.  Our purpose is to perpetuate and create interest in the history of Springfield and Sangamon County and promote education and literary purposes.  We offer programs throughout the year on a variety of topics related to the history of Sangamon County and we have member only events including the Annual Meeting and Holiday Party.  Members receive our newsletter, Historico, nine times a year.  Interact with others who share a similar interest and help promote historical awareness while learning about and from the past.
