The Sangamon County Historical Society does not maintain a separate research library. All inquires about Sangamon County histories are referred to the Sangamon Valley Collection at the City of Springfield's Lincoln Library and/or to Mike Kienzler, editor of the Society's growing on-line and searchable encyclopedia of Sangamon County history, SangmonLink.org.

The Society was instrumental in the creation of the Sangamon Valley Collection at the Library and continues to support its efforts to build a vast collection of material on local history and genealogy. The Sangamon Valley Room, on the Library's third floor, is open to the public. Call ahead for hours. Copies of all Sangamon County Historical Society publications are among its holdings.

SOCIETY POWERPOINT PROGRAMS AND SPEAKERS

The Society can provide your organization with PowerPoint Programs with live narration on select subjects at no cost. Please contact us at schsoffice@gmail.com  for information. In addition, SangmonLink.org  Editor Mike Kienzler is available to speak about the Society's expanding electronic and searchable on-line encyclopedia.
