8th Annual Echoes of Yesteryear Oak Ridge Cemetery Walk Springfield, Illinois October 3, 2004 The Sangamon County Historical Society invites everyone to attend this popular event which features costumed actors telling the stories of seven interesting people buried at Oak Ridge Cemetery. A “Historama” area will feature exhibits by community historical associations and a special display known as “Here and After” providing photographs and more detailed information about the persons portrayed in the walk. A special presentation on tombstone markings will be offered by the Museum of Funeral Customs. Booksellers, concessions and performances by the Prairie Dulcimers round off the planned activities. |
